I’ve read that you should allow children to play with their math manipulatives, as that will help them to become familiar with them and thus more willing to use them to figure out their math problems.
At this rate, my kids are so comfortable with them that they ought to be able to balance their checkbooks in their heads. When they’re old enough to have checkbooks, that is.
I have to admit, irises are my favorite flower.
