How I spent my Fourth of July

We spend the 4th of July – evening – at a cute little cottage on the lake.

The sunset had all kinds of colors in it, as the sun went down.

4th of July3

We had a prime view off the back porch.

4th of July2  Michelle and I took the paddle-boat out in the water once the fireworks really got going.

4th of July4

It was like being in the middle of a municipal display!

A lot of money went up in smoke that night.  Fortunately, nobody in our party had to foot the bill; we just enjoyed watching what the neighbors all around the lake blew up.

And the kids?  The ones who had begged for fireworks the year before, when we stayed home and didn’t see a blessed thing?

I could handle looking at this view every evening, though.  Gorgeous.

Thank you, Pete, for the invitation.  We had a blast!

We are a God-fearing, Christ worshiping family that enjoys good friends and good eats. If the kitchen is clean and the living room carpet is visible, then that's a nice bonus.
